Admissions Department and Informed Consent

This department is in charge of coordinating the patient's admission to and discharge from Hospital Clinica Biblica, in addition to managing pertinent patient information for the patient's medical records. As an overview, the most important services provided at this stage are the following:
- Admission of the client to the Hospital
- Client information management
- Preparation of medical records
As part of our aim to deliver the best customer service and in consideration of each client's needs and concerns, Hospital Clinica Biblica has provided this basic guide in order to answer the most frequent questions that arise during the admissions process.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR YOUR ADMISSION TO HOSPITAL CLINICA BIBLICA
Complete the pre-admissions process at least 3 days prior to the appointed day of your procedure.
It is recommended that you have a friend or family member accompany you on the day of your procedure.
You will need to present some form of identification (residency card or passport); without this we will not be able to proceed with your admission to the Hospital.
On the day of your admission to the Hospital, you will need to present a physician's order for admission by your treating physician.
On the day of your procedure, you should arrive at least 3 hours prior to your scheduled procedure.
You will need to leave a deposit as part of the admissions process. The amount of this deposit will vary according to the type of procedure. This amount will be communicated to you as part of the pre-admissions process.
Please do not carry cash or valuables with you, unless the person who accompanies you is willing to be responsible for your belongings during the procedure.
If you are undergoing surgery, you should not ingest food within 12 hours of the scheduled procedure.
Before your admission to the hospital, talk to your doctor about any necessary special premedication or whether there are any specific tests that you should bring with you to your procedure.
Types of payment:
- For your convenience and safety, your credit card may be used for all payments made in the Hospital.
- If you prefer, you may pay by check. The Hospital accepts checks from Banco de Costa Rica or certified checks from any other bank.
- If you would like to pay by electronic bank transfer to one of the Hospital's accounts, you will need to send the transfer reciept by fax or e-mail to the Admissions Department at least one day prior to the date of the procedure.

You are required to download, read and sign the informed consents and hand them in on admission to the hospital.
