Electro acupuncture according to Voll, or the EAV method, is a unique form of acupuncture without needles. It uses, instead, electromagnetic waves to measure energy levels at acupuncture points (Meridians), which are related to specific organs and systems of human body.

This is long before the patient himself is aware of any changes happening in the body, and long before most of the clinical data can be obtained through the usual medical test,” Dr. Mohammad Abed, anesthesiologist and homeopathic specialist, at Clinica Biblica Hospital, said. 

Most practitioners of alternative medicine consider energy to be of primary importance. The understanding of energy medicine is that before we develop serious diseases, the first thing that goes wrong in the body is an electrical change. If abnormalities and diseases can be detected at the stage of energy changes, diagnosis can be made much earlier. And the diseases are more easily reversible than when a lump has already appeared.

How does the EAV instrument work?
Dr. Reinhold Voll, a German medical doctor, anatomy professor, and acupuncturist, based on traditional acupuncture, began a research with two assumptions: 1.That each organ of the body produces or consumes energy. 2.That health depends on an energy balance, which can be influenced through the respective acupuncture points. If these assumptions are true, he reasoned, it should be possible to measure this energy and restore the body’s energy balance with the aid of modern technology.

Together with an electronics engineer, Dr Voll developed a device to measure the slightest energetic reactions and the momentary electrical potential of an organ at the acupuncture points. By measuring this electric potential, we can detect illness in its very early stages, well before it can be detected by conventional medical tests.

Dr. Abed explained how the EAV test is: “The patient holds a copper tube (which is plugged into the EAV unit) in one hand and place your feet on copper plates. I place a sensor (a pen-like device) at acupuncture points at the other hand. Then, the patient switches hands. Then, I examine points on her o his toes. At each point, the machine makes a noise, and different readings will then be recorded on the 1-100 scale.”

Regardless of who is tested, no matter what their age, weight, sex, or race, a reading of 50 is an indication of an Energetically healthy or “Balanced” meridian. Readings at points that are significantly above 50 (65+) indicate “Irritation” of the Meridian.  Readings above 75 exhibit “Inflammation” of a Meridian. When a reading is significantly lower than 50 (below 40) then it is believed that this meridian is displaying “low energy” properties and a degenerative change is occurring. 

One of the most important advantages of EAV is the medication testing. The patient does not have to ingest, smell, see or feel the remedy. The practitioner tests several different remedies on the “Test Plate” to determine which of them cause a favorable or “Positive Response” Energetically.

Also, EAV has been shown to be as effective in determining food allergies as any other type of testing. Outputting signals of various foods, it is a very fast and painless method of assessment.
