In order to provide the best care to the expecting family, Hospital Clinica Biblica offers the following maternity plans: natural delivery, delivery with epidural, family delivery, or C-section.  Each one of these plans includes the following: 

Maternal Care

• One night in a private room with the following: sleeper sofa for the patient's companion, cable TV, telephone, special reclining chair for breastfeeding, safety-deposit box, and private bathroom (the room charge is by the night and not by the hour).
• 24-hr nursing care by specialized obstetrical nurses.
• Food service for the mother under physician's orders and an additional meal for the patient's companion.
• Use of the delivery room or operating room (both equipped with the latest medical technology), according to the patient's needs.
• Medications and supplies for the mother, as needed for uncomplicated vaginal or cesarean delivery.
• Salon hair drying and make-up service in the patient's room.
• A 60% discount in parking during the time of hospitalization (if you have a ticket previously given by an Admissions officer)
• Staff who work exclusively in the Maternity Department, thus providing the utmost quality of care.
• Obstetrical evaluation including vaginal exams and monitoring of the baby's heartbeat.  The patient who is covered by one of the maternity plans for vaginal delivery or c-section may be examined under this plan for as many times as necessary by obstetrical nurses prior to admission to the hospital.
• Presence of an obstetrical nurse during the entire labor and delivery process.
• Presence of and support by maternity staff during post-partum and breastfeeding.
• Administration of Pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine to the mother.
• At Hospital Clinica Biblica, the usual duration of the hospital stay for a patient who has had a vaginal delivery, as well as for the patient with a cesarean delivery, is 24 hours.  The cost of an additional day includes the cost of both maternal and newborn care.
• Twin deliveries will incur extra cost for care of the additional newborn.

Newborn Care

• 24-hour care by personnel specialized in newborn care that is exclusive to the Maternity Department.
• Education and orientation regarding newborn care (first bath, umbilical care, breastfeeding techniques, changing a diaper, and proper infant clothing).
• First dose of hepatitis B and BCG vaccines.
• Incubator use, as necessary.
• Heel-prick test or neonatal screening test.
• Blood type
• Measurement of transcutaneous billirubin
• Baby wipes, disposable diapers, and diaper cream.
• Photography session (CD) and posting on website, if desired. 

The maternity plans do not include the following:

• Use of supplies, medications, and equipment in case of maternal or newborn complications.  The patient will receive a 10% discount in all necessary laboratory, x-ray and ultrasound services.
• Specialized care and management of maternal or newborn emergencies.
• Internal fetal monitoring
• Phone calls
• Blood transfusions 
• Phototherapy
• Physician fees
• Additional meals for the patient's companion

Payment Options

-The patient may make a deposit on a maternity plan with little money, and then make regular payments according to the patient's budget.
-Financing is available through Banco Popular. 
-International Insurance and INS, as well as all credit cards
