Florida Hospital

Jackson Memorial HospitalHospital Clínica Bíblica and the Florida Hospital joined their wills in a cooperation agreement, executed during the Seventeenth National Congress of Surgery, held at the San José Palacio Hotel from the 8th to the 10th of August, 2013.

Thanks to this agreement, both hospitals will make a reality their wish to exchange knowledge, both in the scientific field and in the social action area, a cornerstone of the Christian values professed by both entities.

As informed by Mr. Marco Pérez, Chairman of the Social Action Board of Hospital Clínica Bíblica, the agreement encompasses the areas of medicine, development and research, among others. In addition, social action is one of the relevant subjects for the Florida Hospital, which want to learn from and develop at their institution the model that is applied in Costa Rica.

The agreement was executed by Jaime Cabezas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Surgery of the Florida Hospital, who took advantage of his participation in the Seventeenth National Congress of Surgery to give a lecture to the attending surgeons on the Florida Hospital and its activities in the fields of medicine, innovation, training and research.

The possibilities that this framework agreement provides include: personnel exchange, the possibility of videoconferences of technical nature, in particular surgical, training by the Florida Hospital on the technique of documentation of procedures and findings, and others.

Dr. Eubanks said that the officers of the Florida Hospital had been greatly impressed by the progress and achievements found at Hospital Clínica Bíblica and wanted to learn more about the social action model successfully implemented by it, with human focus and respect to the condition of patients as human beings.

For Mr. Marco Pérez, this agreement is possible thanks to the support and effort of the Medical Directorate, with Dr. Jorge Cortés, Dr. Alekcey Murillo, Dr. Mario Sáenz and the support of the medical body of this hospital, a national and international pride.
