The branch of surgery that aims to solve surgical neurological illnesses of the brain, the spinal cord and the spinal column.
The most frequent brain surgeries are brain tumors, hydrocephaly, hematomas, monitoring of intracranial pressure, and spinal tumors, among others. The most frequent operations on the spine are: herniated discs, (microdiscectomy, laminectomy, cervical fusion, artificial disc), fractures of the spine (instrumentation, vertebroplasty), displacements (spinal fusion surgery with screws and rods) and vertebral tumors.
