Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

Reanimación Cardio Pulmonar (RCP)

What is cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR?

These are maneuvers that are practiced on adults, children or babies that for some reason have lost their vital functions. They consist of pressing the chest of the victim to stimulate the blood flow and provide oxygenation through artificial respiration. These maneuvers are integrated into a sequence in which the victim is evaluated, a call is made to the local emergency number and an automated external defibrillator (AED) is used. The course includes the techniques that are used to help a person who is being asphyxiated by a piece of food or a foreign object.

What is First Aid?

It is the immediate attention that you can give to a sick or hurt person before the arrival of trained personnel who will take charge of the situation. Your actions during the first minutes of an emergency can be crucial and can help the victim recover better or more quickly. Most of the time, you will give first aid for minor sickness or lesion, but you might also give first aid in the case of a serious illness or important lesion, like a heart attack or severe hemorrhage
