The consumption of false medications represents a health risk for the patient, since these do not guarantee the therapeutical effectiveness for the treatment of specific diseases. Additionally, this does not offer security when used so that they could lead you to your death.
According to Dr. Mariana Somarriba Salas, pharmacist of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital, “false medications are manufactured in ways that are not adequate; generally do not comply with quality parameters and standards that guarantee the consumer the desired effect to treat a certain pathology, so that they represent a danger.”
A false medication that does not comply with the necessary characteristics to have its proper effect on treatments, may even cause that badly treated diseases spread, for example, those caused by virus, bacteria and fungi.
In case you consume them by mistake, you should consult a physician to be examined and if possible undergo blood tests. Also, you can call the national intoxications center and if necessary, take the product to be chemically analyzed.
False medications are products with incorrect ingredients, without active principles, with insufficient active principles or with false packaging.
