Fatigue, intermittent fever, especially at night, without any justification that justifies it, profuse sweating, unjustified weight loss, and non-painful inflammation of the lymph nodes of the neck, armpits or groin, are all symptoms of Hodgkin Lymphoma. A rash all over the body is also characteristic of this disease.

According to Dr. Jenny Rivera, general physician of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital, “this lymphatic disease is an alteration of the cells of the lymph tissue (lymphocytes) where the cell changes its architecture. Since the lymphatic system is found in many parts of the body, Hodgkin disease can be found in any part of it. More frequently, it is located in the lymph nodes in the lateral area of the neck or above the collarbones, although it can also be observed in the axillary or groin areas.

Persons of any age may be diagnosed with Hodgkin disease, although it is more common at an early adult age (15 to 40 years-old, especially in people between 20 to 29 years old) and in late adult age (after 55 years-old).

Gallium 67 is a tumor maker that increases its concentration in the tumor sites. The gammagraphy with gallium is useful in patients with lymphoma to determine the diagnosis, follow-up or the assessment for therapeutical response.
