Carbon Neutral Declaration
As established by the regulations to demonstrate Carbon Neutrality and the Costa Rica Country Program on this matter, the scope includes the emissions associated with the buildings of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital located in the center of the city of San José.
This is achieved through the verification of the inventory of CO2 equivalent emissions, the implementation of actions aimed at reducing and offsetting the rest of its emissions, the latter through the acquisition of carbon credits associated with wind energy generation processes.
The targeted actions that are currently being developed are related to the use of 24 solar panels for water heating, which reduces dependence on LP gas for this need, and 228 photovoltaic panels, the latter to generate electricity also from solar energy. Recently, another action was implemented related to the use of LED lighting.
All of the above has been done through auditing processes (verification), based on national and international standards that allow with a reasonable level of assurance, to meet these requirements, maintaining the Clínica Bíblica Hospital as the first Hospital in the region to achieve this declaration.
