Cybernetic violence is more common that you think. Access to social networks facilitates this type of aggression, which causes much anxiety and risk behaviors, since due to fear and shame, many teenagers do not talk about it to evidence these situations that sometimes get out of control.
According to Melissa Céspedes Arias, clinical psychologist of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital, “violence can be expressed physically, verbally, psychologically and on-line or through social networks, the latter being the most currently used and trough which, under anonymity, the teenager is harassed and threatened to broadcast sensitive audios, images or videos that compromise them.”
Identify the victims of aggression
Passive victims that do not respond to attacks are insecure subjects, and the provoking victims are violent and challenging individuals, that when the occasion allows ad opt the role of aggressor sharing in all their characteristics.
Passive victims, because they constitute the largest group, usually appear as insecure and anxious persons, dependent, their self-esteem is lower than that of their peers, and their attitude towards violence is negative. They are also sensitive, withdrawn, fearful individuals, likely to have emotional issues.
“Violence in educational centers is quite common, so that it is important to work based on coexistence, recovery of universal values such as tolerance, patience and to propitiate spaces for dialogue,” said the psychologist.

When the teenager is attacked, he usually reacts with fear, and at early ages often in tears. This behavior marks them as insecure, weak and not likely to respond.
It is important to identify if a teenager is suffering some kind of aggression and denounce the situations, since this has a chain effect that is not attended to as soon as possible, increases these cases since they become part of a learning experience, and both the offended as well as the aggressor should be intervened.
Types of violence:
Physical violence includes everything from pushing, pinching, hitting, repeatedly and persistently. On occasion it can be very subtle since it is used as a “game” or else is hidden which aggravates the situation since, due to fear, they will not want to talk about it.
Psychological violence implies a verbal or emotional aggression towards a person, through insults, threats, mockeries, which causes serious damage to self-esteem, self-image. Also, a difference with the physical violence, is that it is invisible, that is, it does not leave any print, which makes it difficult to detect because there is no external evidence.
And verbal violence is present through mockeries, sick jokes, threats, hurtful or grotesque words, which generate emotional alterations and doubts for the aggrieved person.
