San José, Costa Rica. August, 2015.
For the third consecutive year, the Clinica Biblica Hospital wishes to invite all plant loves to the Independence Orchid Exposition, where children, young people and adults will have the possibility of seeing 2,000 beautiful orchids, their various forms, colors, aromas and much more. The activity will be held from September 11th to the 13th, in the sixth floor of the parking tower.
As in previous years, the activity is held together with the Asociación Costarricense de Orquídeas de Costa Rica (ACOJORI) (Costa Rican Association of Orchids), from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday until 5 p.m.
According to Lorena Morera, Marketing Director of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital, “among the attractions this year is the exhibition of species such as: miniature orchids Platystele tica (the smallest one of Costa Rica), Draculas (monkey face), Psychopsis Krameriana (butterfly), endangered species; as well as the exotic barkeria lindleyana or the “September 15”, thus known by the Costa Ricans since it only blooms at this time.
The Independence Orchid Expo, organized by the Clínica Bíblica Hospital, was declared of cultural and public interest by the Ministry of Culture and Youth, this past July 17th.
“Our national flower is the Guaria Morada orchid, and based on this, three years ago the idea came up of supporting this exposition to celebrate our Independence Day and commemorate our national holiday showing these beauties,” pointed out the Marketing Director.
During Expo Orchid there will also be a sale of garden articles, a sale of ornamental plants, vegetable stands, preserves, breads and homemade bakery products, dairy products, Costa Rican handcrafts and much more.
Visitors will be able to appreciate and purchase several national and foreign species brought from Asia, America and Africa, as well as hybrid plants and other types of ornamental plants. On the other hand, at this exhibition, more than 100 PYMES will have the opportunity of showing their crafts and products, as well as selling their creations to the visitors.
The entry cost will be ¢2,000 colones per person, seniors ¢1,000 colones and children under 12 years-old come in free. Roofed parking will cost ¢1,100 for the entire day.
